I am a freelance journalist and foreign reporter for German media, newspapers and magazines.

I regularly write for ZEIT Online, NZZ am Sonntag, WOCHENZEITUNG, profil, taz am Wochenende, fluter and chrismon.

My photos and films have been published in various international media outlets such as DER SPIEGEL, DIE ZEIT, stern magazine, Newsweek Japan, guardian, al jazeera, fluter, chrismon, profil, among others.

Since late 2021, I have been based in Kabul, Afghanistan, as one of the last journalists on the ground under the Taliban. Before that, I spent three years on Lesbos Island, Greece reporting on migration to Europe.

In 2016, I received a grant from netzwerk recherche e.V. and worked with Paul Lovis Wagner on a long-term project about refugees in Greek detention centers.
